BIOL 442: DEVELOPMENT BIO

Prerequisites: Previously passed or concurrently enrolled in BIOL 360 or 380; or enrolled in the Biology M.S. program. Corequisite: BIOL 442L. The mechanisms of cell and organ differentiation in animals (e.g., Caenorhabditis) and plants (e.g., Arabidopsis). The majority of topics involve working with mutants and wildtypes on the relationship between genetics and phenotypes. Some lab projects will use RNA-interference technologies. Lecture 2 hours, lab 6 hours. Available for graduate credit.
