ECE 442: DIGITAL ELECTRNCS

California State University, Northridge

Prerequisites: ECE 220/L, ECE 340, ECE 350. Corequisite: ECE 442L. Models of electronic nonlinear devices and their analysis for digital circuit applications. The limitations of digital circuits. Design of logic gates, memory elements and registers at the device level. System considerations with reference to various technologies including CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor), Pseudo-NMOS (N-type Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor), ECL (Emitter-Coupled Logic), Pass Transistor, and dynamic logic circuits. Integrated circuit layout. Graduate students enrolled in the class will be required to develop computer simulation design programs that will produce results that meet a set of circuit specifications. Available for graduate credit. 3 hours lecture per week.
