ECE 528L: ROBOT & EMB SYS LAB

Prerequisite: ECE 425/L or instructor consent. Corequisite: ECE 528. Fundamental concepts of embedded systems and robotics; hardware/software interface using high level programing language such as C; and hands-on experiments on a microcontroller-based full robotic system with various peripherals including sensors and actuators. Students will design and implement embedded systems that control a typical robot. Various sensors and peripherals will be studied including A/D, D/A, LCD, motors, tachometers, etc. Design of custom hybrid systems that include hardware and software components for a robot will be studied and practiced. 3 hours lecture, 3 hours lab per week.
