Overview of the scientific method and the analysis of social science data. Students will learn how to ask research questions related to political science, collect and analyze data, and interpret relationships between variables in an analysis. Topics covered include: research and experimental design, quantitative and qualitative research methods, conceptualizing and measuring political phenomena, descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, quantitative reasoning, and hypothesis testing.
