SPED 420: DESIGN EQ LEARNING

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject, Education Specialist, Dual Preliminary Single Subject/Education Specialist Credential programs, ITEP, or Educational Therapy certificate program. This course, designed for general and special education teacher candidates, emphasizes practical approaches to the design and implementation of equitable and responsive differentiated instruction for all learners. Foundational information on the rationales, impacts, and core components of inclusive education and collaborative special education service delivery will be introduced. The course also focuses on developing the communication skills needed to effectively partner with families and to collaboratively implement multi-tiered academic, behavior, and social-emotional systems of support. Available for graduate credit.
