Examines legal aspects of the employment relationship, from both the US Federal and State of California levels. Topics include: employment at will, contract, privacy, public policy, and whistleblower exceptions; EEO and affirmative action; prohibitions against discrimination and harassment; arbitration, trade secrets, and non-competition agreements; occupational safety/health, compensation; benefit and family leave laws. Project required. Prerequisite(s): BUS3 80, BUS3 150 (can be taken concurrently) and BUS100W or COMM 100W or ENGL 100WB or LLD 100WB. Upper division standing. Allowed Declared Major: Bus Admin/Human Resource Mgmt or Business Minor. Pre/Corequisite(s): BUS3 150.
