Covers computational thinking, problem-solving, and data analysis using the Python language through application-based data manipulation tasks from science, engineering, business, and the humanities. Includes variables, expressions, branches, loops, functions, parameters, lists, strings, file I/O, and exception handling. Also covers software design, testing, and debugging. Credit is awarded for one of the following CS 009A or CS 010A. Credit is not awarded for CS 005 or CS 008 if it has already been awarded for CS 009A.
