Focuses on rhythms, isolations, syncopation, and performance quality. Students learn a variety of jazz styles from lyrical to funk and classical to musical theater. Outside-of-class assignments include readings, video viewings, and written assignments in historical, cultural, and aesthetic issues pertaining to jazz dancing. Course is repeatable.
