DNCE 241: CREATING THE EXPERIMENT: IDENTIFYING THE NEW

An inquiry into what constitutes an experiment in contemporary dance, critically examining how artists bring new dance into existence. Questions the working process in originating movement, sequencing, and images for dance and assesses this process with respect to larger historical and cultural frameworks. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 8 units.
