Addresses theoretical models of reading; linguistics and language development; methods and materials; children's and adolescents' literature; reading in the content areas; individual differences; and measurement and evaluation in reading. Includes observation and participation in assigned schools. Credit is awarded for one of the following EDUC 172 or EDUC 171.
