Examines the emergence and outcomes of collective action and social movements. Considers the conditions under which social movements develop and why they succeed or fail. Utilizes sociological theories to understand collective action and social movements. Includes analysis of the U.S. civil rights movement, feminist movement, and LGBIT movement.
