ANTH 105BW: BIO OF WOMEN

An exploration of female and womxn’s reproductive lives from an evolutionar y and biocultural perspective. We will focus on physiological, ecological, and social aspects of womxn’s development across cultures from before birth , through reproductive processes like pregnancy, birth, lactation, menopaus e, and aging. Examples will be drawn from contemporary human societies, inc luding many small-scale societies, although non-human primates will also be considered occasionally. This class will include lectures, discussion in m ultiple formats, and other modes of learning.
