Topics include acid/base chemistry, conf ormational analysis, stereoisomers, thermodynamics and kinetics, aromaticit y and resonance, and multistep synthesis as well as the nomenclature, struc ture, reactivity, and mechanisms of alkenes, alkynes, and alkyl halides. Re action mechanisms include electrophilic addition, substitution, and elimina tion reactions.
