CHEM 259DD: 3D CRYO-EM METHODS
University of California, Santa Barbara
Course covers the fundamentals and current state of the art of 3D cryogenic electron microscopy, the theory and a diverse set of applications: 3D sing le particle methods, correlative light and electron microscopy & cryogenic in situ tomography; provides a solid foundation for 3D cryo-EM and an oppor tunity to network with the cryo-EM community; features lecturers and renown ed leaders in the field presenting their work, interactive and practical ex ercises: basic sample handling, sample preparation protocols & an introduct ion to computational analysis on a preselected dataset. Course requirements reading classic and/or representative papers, presenting papers prior to re spective lectures and a final written report on a chosen cryo-EM topic.
