COMM 156: HEALTH PROMOTION

Students learn how theories of motivation, attention, cognitive processing, learning, persuasion, and health communication can be applied to the desig n of effective health promotion messages, delivered in person and via media . The course presents theories, research on processes and effects and examp les of the state-of-the-art in health message design, and students have an opportunity to design their own health promotion messages based on theories and research evidence they have learned.
