This graduate seminar introduces students to various types of community-eng aged research across a wide range of domains within the communication disci pline, including interpersonal, organizational, and media and technology. P hilosophies, goals, and methods tied to a range of community-focused resear ch are discussed, as are associated benefits and challenges. Students are e xpected to leave this course with an appreciation for the diversity in what community-engaged research looks like, and exposure to literatures that wi ll allow pursuit of such research should they choose to do so.
