DANCE 73: OPEN-LEVEL BALLET

This course teaches ballet technique focusing on the concepts of barre prac tice and warm-up along with center adagio, petite allegro, grand allegro an d areas of practice in turning and pirouettes. Analysis of placement for pr oper ballet form is emphasized along with artistry, strength and flexibilit y. Historical practices in ballet will be considered and contextualized aga inst modern movements in ballet and the changing aesthetic of the form.
