EARTH 106: INTRO TO CLIM MODEL

An introduction to climate models and their application to studies of past, modern, and future climate. Students will learn fundamental modeling conce pts, gain experience running several kinds of models, and read/evaluate rec ent modeling papers. A variety of models will be introduced, with emphasis on atmosphere-ocean General Circulation Models (GCMs) and "simple"(zero-di mensional) models. No previous modeling or programming experience is requir ed.
