An introduction to the relationship between the physical nature of matter a nd modern problems in energy harvesting, energy storage, information storag e, and communication. Key emphasis is placed on understanding materials and how materials are used to make functional electronics and photonics. The p rimary outcome of this course is to enable students to understand the relev ance of later Physics, Math, and E&P courses with real-world examples and i nvestigations.
