Economic analysis of environmental problems often requires us to evaluate p olicies with very long run, highly uncertainty consequences. This course co vers developments in the theory of intertemporal choice and choice under un certainty and their applications in environmental economics. Topics include social discounting, intergenerational ethics, precautionary policies, lear ning, ambiguity, and catastrophic risks.
