ESM 251: ENVT WRITING

This course is a survey of writing genres students will encounter in enviro nmental jobs. Each week will have a unique technical or creative focus, wit h units spanning science storytelling, literature reviews, policy writing, grant proposals, social media campaigns, environmental poetry and more. Stu dents will read and reflect on examples of effective environmental writing while building their own portfolio of pieces. In lab sections, students wil l participate in peer review to practice giving and receiving feedback. ESM 251 is designed and recommended for first year MESM students, but is open to all MESM, MEDS, and PhD students at Bren and other departments. Undergra duates with writing experience may petition to enroll.
