ESM 295: ADV TOPICS IN EJ

Explores contemporary issues and objects of Environmental Justice (EJ) conc ern through case studies, guest speakers, and student presentations. Potent ial topics include the EJ implications of air pollution, hazardous waste, h eat waves, natural disasters, nuclear power, toxic chemicals, urban green s pace, and water pollution. The course also provides an overview of emerging movements and topics related to EJ, such as climate justice, energy justic e, and food justice. Additionally, students will learn about methodologies and web-based tools for analyzing environmental and social injustices assoc iated with specific issues of EJ concern, as well as policy solutions for a ddressing such injustices.
