Explores how Iran's cultural, technological, and political landscape offers generative ways of studying media: their alternative histories, adaptive p ractices, and subversive circulations. Engaging with an eclectic range of I ranian objects and practices from the nineteenth century to the present, st udents examine the role of media in forming identity and negotiating power while considering the material conditions that transform communications tec hnologies.
