Prehistory to 800 CE. History 4A introduces students to the histories of th the ancient Mediterranean and West Asia, including Egypt, Greece, Mesopotamia, Persia, and Rome. Lectures and readings examine cultural, economic, intellectual, military, political, religious, and other aspects of the period. Weekly small group sections in which students discuss historical sources and methods are an essential part of this course.
