This seminar will introduce students to a number of issues impacting the fo rmerly-incarcerated student population at UCSB. We will also cover a brief historical overview of the prison industrial complex, a study of select de bates on federal and state policies, and a review of literature, journalism , and art issuing from the carceral community within the United States.
