INT 186BH: PYTHONFORHUMANISTS

This seminar introduces students to the Python programming language and the basic principles of computational humanities research. Students will learn how to implement a variety of data-scientific methods ranging from statist ical analysis to word embeddings. Through practice and provided examples, s tudents will also learn how to preprocess texts and datasets, interpret com putational evidence, and effectively incorporate data-driven analysis into humanistic arguments. No prior experience with coding is required or expect ed; advanced assignments will be available to those with prior experience i n Python or other coding languages.
