An exploration of traditional and contemporary earthen building materials i ncluding cob, adobe, rammed earth, straw bale, hempcrete, and timber-frame construction. Students examine historical global use and modern application s of these sustainable materials while learning to evaluate thermal perform ance, cost, labor, and basic site planning principles.
