Are ghosts and monsters “present” among us? Through a selection of films an d stories from Latin America, Brazil, and Lusophone Africa, this course exa mines how the horror genre, in dialogue with Western and non-Western tradit ions, opens onto questions of history, trauma, culture, and social life.
