This course introduces first-year students to the ethical complexities embe dded in scientific and technological endeavors. Students will explore how s ome designs and innovations can inadvertently impact society, perpetuate bi ases, and lead to unintended consequences if ethical considerations are ove rlooked.Through interactive discussions, case studies, and real-world exam ples, students will learn to identify and address ethical challenges such a s privacy violations, discrimination, and inequality in technical design. T his course encourages students to think critically about their roles as fut ure engineers, scientists, and technologists, highlighting the importance o f responsible decision-making that promotes inclusivity and fairness.
