Studying complex biological systems can be greatly facilitated by modern co mputing technologies. This course introduces essential computer programming concepts and algorithms to biology major students. Students learn logics o f programming and apply it to gene sequence analysis (bioinformatics), simu lation of dynamic systems (systems biology), and data analysis (statistics in biology).
