THTR 19: DESIGN DANCE/THEATR

In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of design for th eatre, dance, performance, and live events. You’ll be taught about four dis ciplines of design including Scenery, Costume, Lighting, and Projection alo ng with a series of approaches to formulate and communicate your own design work to others. Inspired by texts, music, and research, you will create vi sual designs that express ideas and aesthetic choices while fulfilling prac tical requirements for the performer or participant in an intentional envir onment. Through hands-on projects and class activities, you will create des igns for live performance through writing, research, 2D media and 3D models .
