ARTG 110: Game Engines - Artists

Introduces and develops methods in visual scripting, programming, and other algorithmic processes from a creative-design framework, for the purposes of creating interactive media and digital games. Presents the basics and design history of several established game engines currently utilized for developing 2D and 3D interactive artworks, centered around a series of projects. Via guided exploration and critical practice, the course provides a baseline understanding of common conventions and affordances shared across a range of game development tools. Previous programming experience is not required.
