BIOL 104L: Bioinformatics Lab

Covers the fundamentals of bioinformatics and how to identify a computational solution or tool for a biological question. Studies how large biological data sets are generated, processed, analyzed, and how to generate questions to ask when working collaboratively with a trained bioinformatics colleague. Students gain experience using online and software-based bioinformatic tools and the use of protein modeling software to design testable hypotheses. (Formerly Coronavirus Bioinformatics Lab.)
