Who was Edgar Allan Poe, and who do we imagine him to be? This course considers popular culture’s longstanding obsession with Poe’s life, death, and writing. Discusses why Poe has lived on in popularity to this day, and how depictions of him have been influenced by his own stories and the stories of others, taking up his legacy. Distribution requirement: Poetry.
