LIT 60C: Banned Books

Literature is dangerous. Around the world and throughout history, people have stood up—fists raised, sometimes shouting—against certain books, taking their concerns to boards of education and legislative bodies to legally remove titles deemed controversial from school curriculums and libraries. This course introduces students to literary interpretation and analysis through the topic of banned books across the globe.
