Studies reading through a cognitive science lens, including perspectives from cognitive and developmental psychology, linguistics, and neuroscience, as well as history, public policy, and education.Primarily examines scientific research focused on skilled reading, reading acquisition, and difficulties learning to read. Students read, discuss, and write about scientific research as well as media covering these topics.
