PSYC 160: Psychopharmacology

Biopsychosocial approach toward understanding the pharmacology and effects of psychoactive drugs. Topics include synaptic neurotransmission, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, tolerance and withdrawal, addiction and abuse, set and setting, harm reduction, drug policy, placebo effects, randomized controlled trials, and drug therapies for mental disorders. Covers a wide range of medicinal and recreational drugs including alcohol, opioids, psychedelics, antidepressants, and more.
