AFRS 3290: Research Methods

Prepares students to conduct independent research.� Introduces the processes of conceptualization and basic research techniques, and some of the issues related to conducting research on the Black experience.� A variety of appropriate studies and methods are utilized over the course of the semester. Section information text: Students will craft a final position paper gleaned from the material read in class. We shall critically examine the research methodologies and the arguments they construct to advance their position paper. We shall use at most three models (History/Philosophy/Politics) to help their exploration of a philosophically grounded but multi-disciplinary research method.
