CSLG 7145: Special Topics in Play Therapy

University of North Carolina, Charlotte

Focuses on a variety of topics in play therapy such as conference, supervision of play therapy, and group play therapy. May be offered in alternative formats, such as weekend sessions and distance learning options. Section information text: We will have a Zoom meeting to review the syllabus on Monday, May 18 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. Following this meeting, all of your work will be asynchronous online using Canvas. After this meeting, the class will be virtual and asynchronous, and the next time we will gather will be for the Multicultural Play Therapy Conference. This summer the conference is a mix of hybrid and in-person. There will be 3 days of virtual sessions on Friday- Sunday, June 19- 21, 2026; and 5 days of in-person sessions on Monday – Friday, June 22-26 (6 hours/day for a total of 30 hours). You are required to attend a minimum of 24 hours of the Multicultural Play Therapy Conference. Each online session is 3 hours, and each in-person session is 6 hours. You may choose which sessions you would like to attend. If you complete all virtual sessions, that is 18 hours and you will need to add one in-person session to meet the minimum 24 required hours. Virtual sessions abide by APT's Live WEbinar guidelines- all participants in live webinars must 1) actively participate in the Live Webinar through the chat feature and experiential activities; and 2) have their camera on and participants are onscreen for the Live Webinar. OR you may do all in-person sessions, which would equal 4 days. You may register for all 5 in-person days if you choose or a combination of in-person and online sessions.
