FILM 3051: Topics in Film Production: Podcasting and Audio Storytelling

Courses in film, media, and video production (cinematography, editing, producing, screenwriting, etc.) Section information text: As the world of podcasting and nonfiction audio grows rapidly, this course will give students a theoretical and practical framework to produce a narrative podcast. Throughout the semester, we will work on audio stories and podcasts that challenge how we experience the world around us, capture fragments of that world in audio, and represent that world through narrative. The class will focus on the essential skills for podcast production -- learning how to record and edit audio, write for the audio medium, interview, create narrative structures, incorporate sound design, and how to tell stories through audio.
