FINN 6217: Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, and Decentralized Finance

Introduction to blockchain technologies with applications in finance. This technology enables fast and secure transactions without depending on a trusted party to intermediate. Students�will study how cryptocurrencies are generated and how transactions take place on blockchains. Then students will study smart contract technology that controls the automated execution of electronic commitments among counterparties. Finally, students will survey various financial applications of this technology.
