GRNT 5364: Aging and Criminal Justice: An Interdisciplinary Understanding

Utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to examine�the many ways in which we interface with the criminal justice system as we age.�Topics include: the nature and extent of aging related crime, the criminal justice system response to older offenders, older adults as participants in criminal trials, older adults as victims of crime and abuse, and legal issues for the older adult population.�Particular attention is placed on assessing these issues from a policy perspective that incorporates concern for administrative, legal, and ethical issues.
