Introduces the key concepts and basic research methods in infectious disease epidemiology.� Students learn about causative agents, different routes of transmission (e.g., host-host, environmental transmission, vector-borne,�etc.), outbreak investigation, and control/prevention strategies for a wide array of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, including HIV, Tuberculosis, malaria, etc.� The difference between infectious and chronic diseases in epidemiological studies is also explored.
