Introduces students to the diverse and dynamic world of Japanese animation, or anime, by examining its origins and development as a medium, exploring its genres and subgenres, and discussing how it has been interpreted and evaluated by various critics and scholars. Students will also learn how anime relates to the historical, cultural, and aesthetic contexts of its production and reception.�Conducted in English.
