MEGR 3283: Practical Applications of Precision Engineering and Metrology
University of North Carolina, Charlotte
A review of metrology, uncertainty, and precision engineering fundamentals. The application of these fundamentals in industrial practice will be provided through a series of case studies that include, but are not limited to; measurement of machine tool errors, optical metrology approaches for form and texture measurements, coordinate metrology systems and their application, the role of metrology in process development, control and optimization, application of precision design in manufacturing and measurement, and the role and integration of artificial intelligence in metrology. Guest lectures will be curated to treat emerging topics.
