MUSC 1230: Musicianship I

An introduction to and study of music theory beginning with rudimentary clef and pitch reading and continuing with diatonic scale recognition, key signatures, intervals, triad formation, and basic Roman numeral and figured bass analysis of triads and 7th chords. Practical application of this material through aural skill development such as basic sight-singing, rhythm reading, and simple melodic dictation.
