PSYC 4602: Seminar in Human Adaptation and Behavior

In this capstone, an intensive reading and discussion in selected areas of psychology, such as stress, personality, emotions and psychopathology. Section information text: This 100% in person seminar is structured as a series of discussions about human behavioral adaptation over the last 300,000 years and its global repercussions. Using the critically acclaimed novel Ishmael to integrate historical, biological, sociological, and psychological concepts to explain species-wide behavior, the course challenges students to ask why homo-sapiens behave in ways that fundamentally endanger our own survival. Students are expected to actively participate weekly in this 100% discussion based course and will write multiple essays on the topics discussed.
