Section information text: The Bible enjoys a complex legacy as the single most influential book in the history of western civilization, woven into numerous aspects of our lives and world. In this course, we will familiarize ourselves with the major contours and contents of the Bible as a canon, its various socio-historical contexts and afterlives, and its continuing social power as a foundational document for making history, culture, laws, ethics, and meaning.
