SEGR 3107: Decision and Risk Analysis

Useful tools for analyzing difficult decisions and making the right choice. After introducing the main elements of decision making, the course focuses on structuring decisions using decision trees and influence diagrams. Decisions under conflicting objectives and multiple criteria are also covered, as well as sensitivity and risk analysis. Techniques such as multi-objective decision trees and Analytic Hierarchic Process (AHP) are discussed. Additional topics include decisions without probabilities, risk attitudes, utility functions, value of information and subjective probabilities. Students work on an applied term project related to decision and risk analysis.
