Special topics in Women's Studies. Section information text: Girl Cultures is an online 100% asynchronous course that uses an interdisciplinary approach to girls' experiences both in the U.S. and globally. The course draws on girls' studies, intersectional theory, film, fiction, poetry, and autobiography to explore such topics as the ""can do"" girl, the ""at-risk"" girl, riot grrrls, Black girls, queer girls, trans girls, rural girls, Muslim girls, and Indigenous girls. The course also considers girls and social media, girls and sex, and the ways girls construct and are constructed by cultures.
